Fatal Collision - N 27th Ave/W Camelback Rd. - Phoenix Police responded to a serious vehicle collision in the area of 27th Avenue and Camelback Road. This was a five-vehicle collision. A white Acura sedan was southbound on 27th Avenue when the driver failed to stop for a red signal light, causing a collision with a blue Chrysler sedan that was eastbound on Camelback Road. 3 vehicles that were stopped on the south side of the intersection were struck by the white Acura as it continued south after the initial collision. The adult male driver of the Acura was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries, and officers suspect impairment on his behalf. The adult male passenger of the Acura was pronounced deceased on scene. The drivers of the other 4 vehicles were uninjured, and had no passengers with them.

Fatal Hit and Run Car Accident - N 71st Av/W Catalina Dr. - Police say a Ford Explorer and a Cadillac sedan collided at the intersection of 71st Avenue and Catalina Drive, which is north of Thomas Road, at about 2 a.m. Sgt. Andy Williams of the Phoenix Police Department said the people who were in the Explorer ran away from the scene before officers got there. The man driving the Cadillac, whom police identified as 33-year-old Xavier Cantu, was in critical condition when he was taken to the hospital. He did not survive. The woman who was in the car with Cantu was not hurt, Williams said.

Airplane down at the 202 and South McClintock Dr. A 23 year old female was transported with unknown injuries.

2747 E Wier Av . Owner stated he was awakened by his dog and saw the roof was on fire. No Injuries reported.
